On the site today, there is a restaurant that is currently operating next to a vacant retail space on George Street N. Additionally, there are various tenanted and vacant residential units on Nelson Street and Elizabeth Street N. The intention of this project is to redevelop this site with a project that addresses important needs of the community.
The proposal includes a mix of hotel suites, retail space and multi-family residential units.
The property is owned by Elizabeth/George Holdings Inc., a partnership between Greenwin Corp. and Sweeny Holdings Inc.
In addition to checking the boxes for many of the City’s Sustainable Community Development Guidelines including compact form, mixed use and walkability, the proposal also calls for the conservation and restoration of a heritage property, the home of Brampton’s first Mayor, located at 24 Elizabeth Street.
We’re very excited to bring more housing options to the heart of Brampton – and we know you are too! However, it’s still too early in the process for us to consider applications. Please check back at a later date for all the latest updates on this project.
